A daily blog in support of liberal ideas and the President.
A salute to the fine state of Maine, which has become the 5th State to legalize gay marriage, and this should be an example to the rest of the States that it is time to end the openly biased and disgraceful discrimination of a segment of our population. I am sick of hearing anything about how god hates this or the bible doesn’t say that, because we are not a fucking theocracy and the founders didn’t want one, go back and read the damn Federalist Papers and James Madison if you don’t believe me. I would also say to all the Jesus loving freaks out there that it was the bible (and don’t give me shit for not capitalizing the bible or god, I won’t and never will) that was used by southern people to justify the enslavement of an entire race, so please your track record in America is shameful when it comes to human rights. It is only a matter of time until gay marriage is legal everywhere in this country so I say to all who oppose it to give up and get with the times and find something useful to focus your hate on.
If the Bush Lawyers Jay Bybee and John Yoo are not disbarred then it is a travesty that all lawyers should feel shameful for. I would like to hear more lawyers speak out about the outrageousness of the findings these men created out of thin air to please their masters and to gain their own advancements. How can we, as the United States, say we are a beacon of anything if we do nothing about the years of open aggression against our own Constitution and belief systems. I support the President in most things but I find his unwillingness to want to confront America’s torturing of people sadly pathetic and it makes us look weak, like a country without enough political will to do the right thing because it maybe somewhat painful.
So Sen. Hatch and Sen. McConnell want to make sure that whomever the person that President Obama chooses for the Supreme Court is neither empathetic or sympathetic. So they want a cold hearted person uncapable of seeing things from anyone else’s point of view other than their own. So they want him to pick a Republican or a Serial Killer, because any decent human being possesses both of these traits in full.
Finally I come to the Anti-Philosopher of the week Ronald Reagan, a man who hated gay people and minorities, but we just as a nation don’t talk about that. Reagan said, "The best minds are not in government. If any were, business would steal them away." This quotes goes to the heart of why Republicans should never be in power, they believe in money and not in country! The old windbag also said, "There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right." Yeah Ronnie like ignore the AIDS epidemic for years while people die, you son-of-a-bitch! Anyway until tomorrow goodbye....
