GOP Rep. Pete Hoekstra is upping the stakes of the torture fight in response to Nancy Pelosi’s claims that she wasn’t briefed on the use of waterboarding.
His office tells me that he’s seen documents that will prove this isn’t true.
Hoekstra spokesperson Jamal Ware says that Hoekstra is now seeking the release of the memos and notes that comprised the basis of the documents that came out today that claimed Dems had been briefed on enhanced interrogation techniques.
"He has seen documents that would clarify exactly what the Speaker was briefed on," Ware tells me, "including whether she was briefed on all enhanced interrogation techniques that had been used."
Asked if those techniques included waterboarding, Ware replied: "Ye
s."
So that the moronic assholes on the right who are swooning in the throes of orgasmic ecstasy over the fact that Pelosi and other Dems had been informed about the various interrogation methods including waterboarding will understand the meaninglessness of it all.
Let's accept the fact that they did know. That begs so many questions, I'm going to need a tin cup. First of all, Pelosi and the Dems were not the ones who ordered up the torture. That was done by the criminal enterprise known as the Bush administration. Second, they had absolutely no way of stopping it short of going public. Third, if they did choose to go public they would have been branded as traitors and possibly faced criminal prosecution for divulging state secrets.
No, my dear friends on the far far right you own the whole shebang, lock, stock, and Dick Cheney's smoking barrel.
And last but not least, by publicly affirming that you did engage in such activities you have of your own volition admitted to the commission of war crimes.
Have a nice day.
