The "Dollar A Day to Make Norm Go Away" campaign has now raised $99,300 to help progressives defeat Republicans in 2010 -- can you help us hit $100,000 today?
The goal of this campaign (by the PCCC and Democracy for America) is to create a counter-incentive for DC Republicans who previously saw no downside to encouraging Norm Coleman to delay the seating of Al Franken as long as possible. Now, every day Coleman stays in, a war chest to defeat Republicans in 2010 is building.
The timing couldn't be better. Washington Post today:
The National Republican Senatorial Committee has committed $750,000 to former Minnesota senator Norm Coleman to help cover the vast legal expenses incurred during the former incumbent's lengthy challenge to the election results of his race against Democrat Al Franken.
After you've joined the Dollar a Day campaign, call the NRSC to let them know their financial support for Coleman means you're donating more to help progressives defeat Republicans: 202-675-6000
UPDATE: Now over $101,000! (RECS APPRECIATED!)
Let's make sure they get that message.
Oh, and in case you missed it, guess who already got the message this weekend thanks to some awesome progressive Minnesotans? That's right, Norm himself. Check it out:
Thanks to all who have joined this campaign so far. If you haven't yet, can you help the Dollar a Day campaign reach $100,000 today?
Then, please tell your progressive friends!
