Tonight, I twitted the video of conservative radio host Mancow being water boarded - professing that it is torture. A friend re-twitted my post, and it appeared on her Facebook. Her pro-torture Facebook 'friend' defended the practice with a talking point straight from the mouth of Dick Cheney.
I couldn't let that go. The exchange is after the fold as well as a little something to set the mood.
Misguided Wingnut: If 3 quarts of water is all it takes to save the lives of our soldiers or citizens, then pour it on.
Me: I'm sure the imperial Japanese felt the same way when they poured water into the lungs of American GIs. they didn't get any intelligence out of it though.... either did the Vietnamese and North Koreans. That's a nice club to be in, isn't it?
I should also point out that the goal of the water boarding torture shifted from the false 'ticking time bomb' scenario to proving a link between al qaeda and Iraq - while the case for the war was already being made.
