I love it when a GOPosaur comes up with logic so irrefutable as to why we should eliminate idiotic policies like Don't Ask Don't Tell.
Sen. John "has anyone ever heard of me?" Barrasso (R-Wyo) did just that. According to AP:
why discriminate?
Isn't this what most of us have been saying: "why discriminate against patriots willing to serve their country because of sexual orientation?"
Ok,ok,ok, so he was not talking about this at all. He was trying to do something elusive to GOPosaurs: attack Democrats with logic (not ridiculous BS) and justify the use of a product that is the GOPosaur of energy because it benefits his state (and he's not even up for re-election for 5 years!).
"Democrats have focused solely on what they call green jobs. Those are jobs from alternative energy. I support green jobs, but why discriminate?" Barrasso said. "American energy means American jobs, which is why I support red-white-and-blue jobs."
Is this guy going rouge? Didn't McConnell tell him using logic is not allowed for GOPosaurs? Are the GOPosaurs wasting the good Doctor on energy and not on attacking socialist medicine?
Wyoming is the nation's leader in coal production, and coal mining contributes hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue each year to the state.
Barrasso also said Democrats were misguided by ruling out the use of U.S. oil in places such as the Outer Continental Shelf and Alaska.
"There's enough oil shale in the Rocky Mountain West alone to power America for the next hundred years," he said. "As a nation, we need to be more energy independent. It is a matter of energy security, as well as national security."
"As we approach this Memorial Day, it is my hope that the Democrats can work with us to develop solutions to make our energy supply clean, affordable and reliable," he said.
What next? Is he going to proposed sensible gun training and licensing to promote the gun industry, argue for marriage equality because we cannot discriminate, propose pay for women/immigrants/other that is equal to that of white men? Where does it end?
Ironic in his address and logic is the joke we will someday be telling:
Why did the GOPosaur want more fossil fuel?
Answer: Because he felt more comfortable with fuel from
extinct creatures like himself.
