I now live in Texas.

This man was my US HOUSE Rep while I lived in Oklahoma.

He represents the area around Tulsa.

I point out this article from my home town paper with a significant degree of extreme sadness.....

I do hope he gets the help he deserves.

When I lived in his district during the 2004 campaign, I distinctly remember this issue coming up.  I also remember him tarnishing his opponent as a "mean person" - "a jackass" - and the constant refrain of how dare his opponent bring up this youthful indiscretion.

Anyone with a small amount of training could look at some of your behavior and note that you may very well have an alcohol or drug problem.

Now, unfortunately, that has been confirmed.  And the city of Tulsa will be without representation for the whole time you are "on a leave of absence".

Thank you very much.

How many of you are sick and tired of all the "family values" and Jesus talk from people like this.  We all have issues and problems, and I hope he gets help --- but he was the first one to pile on for years about how the country was going to hell because it had lost its "family values"

May God have mercy on us all.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
