In Rwanda, war crimes prosecutors found that broadcasters were guilty of war crimes for using the airwaves to encourage the activities of murderers.
Is this the appropriate framework for thinking about Tiller's murder and the part played by "pundits" that support the activities of anti-abortionists and "shock jocks" ?
In Rwanda, prosecutors found that radio personality Georges Ruggiu and broadcasters were guilty of incitement to genocide for using the airwaves to encourage the activities of murderers and to signal when the killing should begin.
Here's a link to judgment in the case of Georges Ruggiu, a radio personality in Rwanda found guilty of war crimes by the UN's International Criminal Tribunal Rwanda.
Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, G. Gordon Liddy, Sean Hannity and commenters, letter writers here, not to mention some whack jobs over on LGF and other such sites that now (in my view) constitute broadcasting, take note: speech on the radio that incites others to violence in Rwanda sent "shock jocks" and broadcasters to prison.
Why shouldn't we examine Tiller's assassination in light of what conservative anti-abortion activists and media supporters have said on the airwaves and on the internet? They clearly have successfully influenced others to act on their words.
