In these days of domestic terrorism and some major meta I offer this photo diary as a brief distraction. I hope you find it enjoyable.
Water
The Spotted Dolphin is a medium-sized offshore species often associated with schools of yellowfin tuna. They are quite acrobatic and will leap high in the air.
A "puka head" (puka is hole in Hawaiian)
Some pretty big air on this one.
Now for some Boobies.... and no not that kind. Sorry.
The Brown Booby
And the Red-Footed Booby
Someone usually asks if I have any Blue-Footed Booby photos and I do not. We do not have them here. They are spectacular birds and some day I hope to photograph them.
The noble Honu or Green Sea Turtle.
This one is sleeping head first in a cave. This is not his best angle.
They are so cool.
Coming up for a breath.
This is a Manybar Goatfish or Moano.
This is a Manybar Goatfish being cleaned by a Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse. The little wrasse feeds on fish mucus and the occasional parasite. It drags its fins across the customers body and it apparently feels good.
A Pacific Trumpetfish with a Cleaner Wrasse
Please be good humans.
