I enthusiastically support Obama in spite of the fact that I tend to agree with McJoan that "the evidence is OVERWHELMING that the only change the country got with Obama is a change of style--not of substance." I think that, For A Change, more of us will be working together, but Obama will be reluctant to attack the difficult issues like enforcing our Federal Laws against Torture. So the only thing we can do is bring as much pressure on Obama as we can to enforce Our Federal Laws on Torture.
Believing that pro-prosecution Petitions can help make change I spend most of my time helping groups with accountability petitions Get Signatures. I created a website http://ANGRYVOTERS.ORG
with the sole purpose of directing like minded voters to all of the pro-prosecution petitions.
It is working well. Just one of our "commenters" in May brought over 5,000 voters to the petitions. That with only a dozen or so daily comments on torture, war crimes, and Bush-Cheney related articles. This week that same commenter is bringing an average of over 250 Unique Visitors per day to the petitions.
Do the math. If we had a thousand people doing a dozen comments per day we can send over 250,000 new pro-prosecution voters to the petitions Per Day.
That is why we need everyone's help. The potential is enormous. This Will Make A Diference.
Most people doing this do only a few comments daily but it still adds a lot of new signatures to the petitions daily.
I don't know if this concept is a magic bullet (that depends on what the groups doing the petitions actually use them for) but it should make a great difference.
We are looking for progressives who regularly comment on news articles and asking them to add this text (or similar text) below their comments:
SIGN THE PETITION To Prosecute Them For Torture
AT ANGRYVOTERS dot ORG
http://ANGRYVOTERS.ORG
Over 250,000 have signed
Join them and call yourself a Patriot

It is quite amazing that this simple act drives voters to the petitions in excellent numbers
But what is even more amazing is that our early click through stats showed that over 95% of those coming to AngryVoters.org actually go on to one or more of the petitions.
I have been involved with the anti-war and impeachment movements since the WMD Lies and of course (other than help elect more do nothing Democrats) that didn't stop the wars and the Democrats ignored their duty to impeach for seven long years. I organized weekly impeachment protests for some years. I'm not sure that accomplished much except help elect Democrats.
Experience has shown that if we want Our Democrats to enforce our Federal Laws on Torture and to prosecute those Bush staffers that ordered or conspired to torture, the only way it will happen is for us, you and I, to help create enormous public pressure.
Most of us are a bit worn out after seven years which is why I devised this simple method of helping those anti-torture activists who are on the front lines of the battle to prosecute those that tortured. Simply adding a little bit of text to your usual news article comment or blog posts is a painless way to help.
Our little band of helpers would like to hear your comments and criticisms of this effort.
Please feel free to contact me directly at angryvoters@yahoo.com
And consider that this concept could be used to advance support for other progressive causes such as
Single Payer Health Care.
