On May 20, 2007, musicians from all over Arkansas converged at the Craighead Forest Bandshell for an afternoon of great music. Featured were Suzanne Michell and Uncle Fred Wilson, Blind Boy White, Jawbone and Jolene, Sandy and Roy McCann, Ben "Swamp Donkey" Brenner, and Mike "Whiskerfish" Dollins and The Big Blue Cats. It was an afternoon of sharing with many of the acts mixing it up, jamming on stage. I even blew some harp with the Big Blue Cats when they did "Born In Chicago". It just didn't seem right without the harp in there.
This weeks Something Blue show features a few of the songs that we played that afternoon. About an hours worth. And then in After Hours we'll hear Ronnie Presley and Hairy Larry and Geroge, more Arkansas musicians.
The show starts on KASU at 11:00 pm CST. If you're not in the KASU listening area you can listen to the podcast here. I'm discussing the show in the comments.
