Note: [166] I thought I might as well start numbering my diaries on D-Kos, it will help me keep track, 165 already done, I am surprised.
Now back to the point of this diary, even within the Talibangelical movement there are extremes and it's amazing what they get away with.
A Valley Station Road church is sponsoring an "Open Carry Church Service" in late June, encouraging people to wear unloaded guns in their holsters, enter a raffle to win a free handgun, hear patriotic music and listen to talks by operators of gun stores and firing ranges.
Pastor Ken Pagano of New Bethel Church said the first-time event is "basically trying to think a little bit outside the box" to promote "responsible gun ownership and Second Amendment rights."

May I just remind these ‘christians’ of:
Put up again thy sword into its place: for all they that take the sword shall perish by the sword.
~Jesus of Nazereth.
I must thank St Ronnie formally for bringing these nuts into our everyday life and making the GOP beholding to them for what little support they now have./s
George Carlin sums up the Reagan administration and the religious right.
Racism got them started:
Women, guns, abortion and teh gay keep them going:
It is probably impossible for a politician to be elected if he/she is an atheist, I have always found this absurd since the constitution protects our rights. Even asking a politician what his/her faith might be in un-constitutional when it is designed to determine their electability or ability to serve.
Now the CSA is getting itself into a right old tizzy:
According to Christianity Today, Congressman Pete Stark (D-California) became the first member of Congress to deny the existence of God.
A simple declaration of a belief in God by members of Congress on the House floor will be greatly informative for the American people.
"We have long recognized that all of this hot air about ‘separation of church and state’ has been a veiled effort to intimidate and silence religious voices in public policy matters.
"This is a fight which is destined to be fought in America and we think it should begin today."

Fight back against who? Is anyone attacking Christianity? This I'm afraid throws the CSA right into nutsville, demanding that our representative take a 'god' test really is way too much.
Which of course leads into
The Traditional Values Coalition
teh gay, teh gay ooooooooooh teh gay.
Iz evil!
Contrary to what homosexual activist groups or homosexual-affirming psychological associations may suggest, there is hope for individuals who wish to break free from unwanted same-sex attractions, sexual compulsions, cross-dressing, or transsexual feelings.
Gay Rights/Special Rights, produced by Traditional Values Coalition, exposes the homosexual agenda and how it impacts Christianity, the business community, public schools, the Church, Congress and the individual.
June 4, 2009 – As I predicted last year, Kevin Jennings, the former head of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) would eventually become part of the Obama Administration. It’s happened. He is President Obama’s latest Czar—the gay agenda Czar. Jennings has been hired to head up the US Department of Education’s "safe school" program

The we have the 'cure' loonies, or more precisely we want to take away your rights to impose our views crowd.
**snicker** it would be funny if it wasn't so damn sad.
Westboro Baptist 'Church'
How could this not lead into the adorable Fred Phelps gang and his 'love crusade' titled deliciously 'God hates fags'. Its a wonder the irony of this all doesn't flatten him.
WBC engages in daily peaceful sidewalk demonstrations opposing the homosexual lifestyle of soul-damning, nation-destroying filth. We display large, colorful signs containing Bible words and sentiments, including: GOD HATES FAGS, FAGS HATE GOD, AIDS CURES FAGS, THANK GOD FOR AIDS, FAGS BURN IN HELL, GOD IS NOT MOCKED, FAGS ARE NATURE FREAKS, GOD GAVE FAGS UP, NO SPECIAL LAWS FOR FAGS, FAGS DOOM NATIONS, THANK GOD FOR DEAD SOLDIERS, FAG TROOPS, GOD BLEW UP THE TROOPS, GOD HATES AMERICA, AMERICA IS DOOMED, THE WORLD IS DOOMED, etc.

The slipping into insane caps lock is theirs by the way.

The Auburn Avenue Presbyterian Church
Just love them some rewritin of that thar Amurikan his story.
"Slavery as it existed in the South ... was a relationship based upon mutual affection and confidence," the excerpts read in part. "There has never been a multiracial society which has existed with such mutual intimacy and harmony in the history of the world. ...
"Slave life was to them [slaves] a life of plenty, of simple pleasures, of food, clothes, and good medical care."
Douglas Wilson and Steven Wilkins, the co-authors of Southern Slavery
Shucks folks slavery was good fer em.
/sigh.
The American family Association.
Gosh we really really do hate Pepsi, the are propagating teh evil.
AFA asked Pepsi to remain neutral in the culture war, but the company refused — choosing to support the homosexual activists.

Don't they really have something better to do with their time? No, I suppose that is evident.
Alliance defence fund.
**Sniff** Poor believers no rights to persecute who they wish.
I'll tell you what, if the churches pay taxes and declare themselves political organisations then they can go for it.
Family Research Council
The rights of women, OMG NO!
H.R. 2410: Enemy of the State
As Secretary Hillary Clinton announced at a recent committee hearing, "We are now an administration that will protect the rights of women, including their rights to 'reproductive health care.'" Reproductive health care is an attempt to put a nice wrapper on unlimited abortion.
H.R. 2410 would force our Foreign Service workers to undergo "sensitivity training" on the issues of "sexual orientation and gender identity." It's not too late to help us persuade those leaders to say "no" to H.R. 2410. Contact your representatives today!

Hillary is Satan's daughter! Women's rights and sensitivity, Oh noes!
Health care only means free abortion, the barstewards!
FRC's chief complaint with ObamaCare, apart from the trillions it would cost, is that this plan would force taxpayers to provide abortion coverage for the first time in U.S. history. When I met with a series of Senators last week, they too were concerned that the President wants to make "reproductive health care," including abortion, an essential part of his government-controlled system.
All this hate coupled with conspiracy theories all wrapped up in an American flag.
It's enough to make you wonder at their mental health.
There are more extreme right wing cults but they tend to be called Stormfront and the KKK and I have dealt with them before.
