"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." Oscar Wilde
It has been an extremely difficult couple of weeks with what the doctor finally decided was derviticulitis. Needless to say it hasn’t been fun and I was trying to find things to cheer me up. Being a typical Geek with typical Geek taste you could imagine my thrill to read that veteran actor Christopher Lee has just been knighted. When you try and do a retrospect of Mr. Lee’s work you run into multiple pages and then you only scratch the surface. His most immediate work as Saruman in The Lord of the Rings and Count Dooku in the Star War’s preambles came to mind. My personal favorite role of his was Lord Summerisle in the original The Wicker Man. I wasn’t fond of the Roger Moore’s James Bond but I loved "The Man With The Golden Gun" for Mr. Lee’s wonderful performance.
Two other names caught my eye on the Queen’s List one was Allan Cummings for his fight for equal rights for gays and Jonathan Pryce who is one of my favorite performers. I am very fond of musicals and he played several roles in the Cameron Macintosh celebration called "Hey Mr. Producer."
So congratulations gentlemen, you deserve it.
