OK, this is going to be short and sweet, but I have to get it off my chest.
The nonsense about seeking "compromise" on health care reform has one really big problem attached to it: We ALREADY compromised. Hello? Am I the only who gets this??
Grrrr!
Polls have shown high support with the public on SINGLE PAYER health care coverage. Politicians have largely given great lip service to SINGLE PAYER ideas.
Yet, all the sudden, we're being asked to compromise? I don't think so. We already did. The public option is our compromise. We can't get the votes to do the right thing for the American people? Fine, let's do the next best thing.
I cannot believe our Senate Dems are so beholden to these big corporations that they'll choose death or bankruptcy for many of their constituents in exchange for a few bucks. Pathetic.
I don't want to hear about stupid-ass co-ops and I don't want to hear about triggers. Not. Interested.
There are several diaries listing actions you can take, so I'll not waste the space repeating all that here. All I can say is, if you have a Democratic senator and they haven't come out with a full-throated endorsement of the inclusion of a public option, you need to do everything you can to turn the full force of your local Democratic institutions onto those people.
Bring. The. Noise.
