UPDATED:Just wanted to update the community as Olive garden is singing a different tune today; Here is the new info & link:http://www.politico.com/...
OG is saying their spokesperson from yesterday did not have the authority to talk to Politico.
The Olive Garden restaurant chain is denying that it canceled all of its scheduled ads on CBS late night comic David Letterman’s "Late Show" in response to a crude joke Letterman told about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s daughter and instead contends that its ad schedule concluded.
OG is also not leaving out the possiblilty of pulling ads in the future:
"No authorized spokesperson for the company confirmed the information in his report," Jeffers said. "The Olive Garden media schedule is planned months in advance. The schedule for the Late Show with David Letterman was completed earlier this month. We take all guest concerns seriously. And, as always, we will factor those concerns in as we plan our advertising schedule in the future."

Sarah Palin has forgiven David Letterman, but one restaurant chain will never forget. Olive Garden has announced that they are pulling their ads from "The Late Show With David Letterman" following his jokes about the Alaska Governor.

This is unbelievable! For them to actually’ cut off your nose to spite your face’. I do not know how this will affect their business and only time will tell. Also, I did not know this at the time but "Olive Garden may feel some loyalty to Palin. During the campaign, her running mate ate there with Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.)." also quoted in this article.
Politco also has the article here: http://www.politico.com/... Sherri Bruen, the company’s guest relations manager said:
"We apologize that Mr. Letterman’s mistake, which was not consistent with our standards and values, left you with a bad impression of Olive Garden."
They are cancelling all of their ads for the rest of the year and claiming that the joke left their customers with a bad impression of Olive Garden.
Well, shucks-Sarah Power at work. It is so puzzling to me how the Media does not remembers her hate-filled tirades on the campaign trail but sure get upset when somebody makes a joke about her family.
Is this the standard now for TV comedians? I believe that this is what she wants, to silence them so that she can have legitimacy when she runs for president. This burns me up. Yes the joke was tasteless and I do not
believe that he was talking about her younger child and that Tv, comedians and any entertainer should not have to tread lighly or change. Laughter is good for the soul.
