another small step we should take notice of.

The White House is looking to include same-sex unions in the 2010 Census Count and has directed the Census Bureau to explore ways to accomplish that.
Of course this is just a another small step but there is plenty of people on this site that will notice every tiny percieved anti-gay move by the the administration. Some of it warranted but alot of it is an over-reaction. Yes...even the infamous DOJ brief written by a career legal staffer (non-political appointee) in a department that is largely independent from the President, does not represent the President's sentiments. But we should keep pressing never the less.
On the same token we should also take notice when the administration makes even small, incremental pro-gay moves or pro-gay symbolic gestures towards gays and gay rights there have been plenty of them in only 5 months, which we never would have saw in 8 years of the Bush Administration or never would have seen in a McCain Administration. Is it fast enough. Absolutely NO. Would I like DADT and DOMA repealed yesterday? Absolutely YES. But I also want to be a little balanced in my observance of the Obama Administration.
