Yesterday, I emailed the WaPo to register my dissatisfaction with their decision to fire Dan Froomkin. I went to the contact us, and used a form for contact. My email, and what I take to be their response is below the fold.
Here is my note to them:
I am very upset at the firing of Dan Froomkin. He was one of the last reasons that I would visit washingtonpost.com due to the very rightward slant of the editorial content. Without him writing, I feel that there is no need for me to continue with visiting your website for any particular reason.
Thank You

Thank you for contacting The Washington Post concerning the announced discontinuation of the Dan Froomkin "White House Watch" column.
Our editors frequently review the content from our columnists to determine the interest in their opinions. The decision to end Froomkin's column was the result of efforts to ensure we bring readers engaging content when they are on our website while balancing the need to make the most of our resources.
We appreciate your sharing your opinion and believe you will see interesting and thought-provoking opinions expressed by our collection of columnists.

Apparently, Froomkin was not generating interest, even though he had, as has been widely noted three of the ten most popular opinions. As for the remainder of their columnists, they all seem to have the same opinion.
