I campaigned for and donated to President Obama. I believed in the "audacity of hope." I even defended his decision to use Professor Kmiec, at the time a staunch advocate of Proposition 8, as part of his faith based tour of swing states.
I grew up.
The fact is, President Obama is proving to be little different from President Clinton, albeit with a higher approval rating. In 2009, that’s unacceptable. It’s unacceptable because we truly are faced with a crisis we did not face in 1993 or 1997. But this message isn’t directed at President Obama. It is directed at you. You, the Obama apologist.
The debate we’re having is not about strategy. If the points you want to make are about tactics, make them about tactics. If they’re principled, make them about principle. We cannot divine your intent in these matters. In 2009, this is all about results.
Flame away.
