A daily blog in defense of liberalism and the President.
It is time that CNN finally fires their windbag of partisan bullshit Bill Bennett. It is certainly ok to oppose the President, obviously that is why he is there running his pie hole constantly, but to say that President Obama is on the same side as the Supreme Leader of Iran is to be much more than a bipartisan hack, it is treacherous, disingenuous, and highly inflammatory. If this is what CNN is calling journalism or even editorial journalism then why do we have FOX News? I have certainly thought that CNN has looked foolish keeping this gambling addict on their payroll, but I guess they love to stir the pot and the rest of the rightwing purveyors of lies and deceit were busy over at FOX, so I guess they have to take what they can get. Bill Bennett is not alone on CNN, he has David Gergen talking about how the President should do more and be more involved in the situation in Iran, even though CNN’s Iranian specialist Trita Parsi says he’s frustrated with the criticism of Obama and that it is getting more play than it deserves. What I would like to know is what is it they would like the President to do? I guess if you want to spend the most boring hour of the day trying to keep your eyes open you can watch "Larry King Live" tonight where Larry will be talking to John McCain for the entire hour. I bet McCain bashes the President’s policies and says he is weak and is allowing our enemies to laugh at us or some other outrageous shit that comes out of his crazy little head. Don’t worry, if you tune in I promise you, you will hear no kind words toward our President, you will hear how if we’d elected McCain he’d already freed the Iranian people, won the war in Iraq, fixed global warming and gotten a job for all us too. I just want to say BOO CNN, you suck, I try and watch but your network is full of fools and idiots, not all, true, but most, and you can do better!
The most current polls are showing that 72% of the American people want a government choice in healthcare, yet it appears the votes may not be there in the Senate. Why? It is simple, they feel more indebted to the corporations that have given them money and lined their campaign pockets than they do to the American people who elected them into office. Trust me, the Senate Democrats will blow smoke up all our collective asses and try and convince us that it just isn’t the right time, or a compromise with the insurance companies is good for everyone, but it will be a lie! It isn’t like they have to worry about where their healthcare is coming from or even have to pay for it, but I promise if they get their way you certainly will be paying and it will be going into the profit margins of the large insurance companies and HMOs. We must stand behind the President and let our representatives know we will hold them responsible if they do not get this legislation passed with a government option, for we cannot continue with this broken system we are all stuck with now!
Finally I come to the Philosopher of the week, and this week we are quoting Spinoza who wrote, "Freedom is absolutely necessary for the progress in science and the liberal arts." This explains the progress in most Islamic countries. Spinoza also said, "I call him free who is led solely by reason," and I call he who leed by their "gut" to be an idiot and a detriment to his nation, Yes I am talking about You, George Bush! Well until tomorrow goodbye...
