Like alot of other people here with astronomically high UIDs, I originally came to this site wondering about the choices available in the Democratic Primary. Over time, reading and learning, something about the site has become clear.
This site is not about the President. Nor should it be. It's about Congress. That's where any progressive change has to come from, because it is where laws are made.
As Kos has said several times: "More and better Democrats".
We now have more Democrats. It's time to focus on the Better part.
I've got a Litmus Test. Support and vote for single payer, or I will work for your opponent in the next election cycle. That's it. I'm not going to judge you for anything other than this for this term. Get this right, or else!
Almost 3 out of every 4 Americans want a robust fix to the ridiculous health insurance mess we have in this country. The number of people ruined every minute, and the number of people with no coverage at all is shameful.
Yet, here sit our Senators, trying with all their might to do nothing that would interrupt their gravy train. "Work Wknds" to imagine methods to sell something that looks and smells like reform to their constituencies, but isn't.
I've written a letter to Senator Hagan. I told her in simple words that if she doesn't support meaningful healthcare reform that works, I will work for and vote for her opponent.
So I'm drawing a line in the sand. This is too important. Accountability. I will work for your opponent in the next cycle if you don't work for the correct solution.
A Litmus Test.
