So, the Obama Administration again is delaying release of the CIA Inspector General's report that reportedly proves that torture doesn't work. I'm not going to mince words. The reasons for the delay are obvious.
Because once it is officially recognized by those still too oblivious to recognize the obvious- that torture doesn't work- there will be only one remaining question: what to do about those who authorized torture. And among the countless messes and disasters the Obama Administration inherited from the Bush Administration, perhaps the starkest of all is the irrefutable fact that a former vice president of the U.S.A. is a war criminal. Let me make this very clear:
Dick Cheney is a war criminal.
Dick Cheney is a war criminal.
Dick Cheney is a war criminal.
Dick Cheney is a war criminal.
Dick Cheney is a war criminal.
Dick Cheney is a war criminal.
The corporate media will try to protect him. If the Republicans declared that the Earth is flat, the corporate media would act as if it were legitimately debatable. That's what the corporate media do: cast all of reality as but a political debate. But this is not debatable. Torture doesn't work. Even if it did, it is a war crime. Dick Cheney authorized torture. He is a war criminal. Dealing with that fact will be messy and unprecedented. But it must be done. It's time to hold war criminals accountable. If they aren't held accountable, all President Obama's efforts to establish some sense of morality and credibility for the United States will be for naught.
