But why are they really calling for Mark Sanford to resign? Is it because he had an affair, or is it because this is just another act in a political game?
She starts out with a false premise: There is only a limited choice! The choice is false, incoherent, out of context, but noooooooo -- that won't stop Ms. Carey. She's on a roll here.
So either:
a) His affair is no big deal, OR
b) It's all just a political game! (whatever the hell that means)
It’s no secret that Sanford has been at odds with the General Assembly throughout the majority of his governorship. Now it seems that legislators have seized upon personal failure as the ultimate weapon to finally dismantle Sanford’s career.
Personal failure! Well, what's that? It literally could mean anything from using too much toilet paper to nuking France. Come with me into the dark recesses of Ms. Carey's shrunken pea brain and let's see how this concept is narrowed down...
Sanford appears to be genuine and sincere in his attempts to repair the damage he has caused.
This is only in reference to the affair. But he's now TELLING THE TRUTH! Never mind that we get new contradictions every day on it. Anyway, this not only is pure speculation based on Nothing. Nil. Zilch. But it EVADES THE ENTIRE CONTEXT of everything he's done, said and not said. Nevillonia Chamberlain, have we? Nevilletta?
Others say that his moral integrity is ruined...If that is the case, then Sanford’s entire life and relationship with his family should be examined, not just this past year.
With his family. Fuck the people of SC. Fuck the governing of SC. Dereliction of duty -- what's that?
...our governor made a personal error in judgment, but that does not change our belief in his ability to lead our state...
Governor disappears for a week. PERSONAL error. We still believe in his ability to lead the state. Ok -- WHEN HE'S THERE. No, he appears to be so transfixed on his lover that we can't even count on him when he's there. But it's still PERSONAL. Only his business.
The fact is that South Carolina needs a strong leader who will fight for our interests, and Sanford has been exactly that.
He's so good he can fight for your interests even from Argentina!
Yes, folks! All we have to do is hack into his computer and find out where he is. It's just like the bat signal. We do that, he's there for us, fighting off reporters. Fighting off money from the Feds. Fighting off questions. Fighting...well...you know -- fighting.
Whatever weaknesses he possesses in his personal life do not transfer over into his public and political one. That much is clear, even for those who disagree with Sanford’s stances.
Well, I humbly disagree with his stances of disappearing for unlimited periods of time and appointing no one for emergencies, following his dick/divining rod to wherever it may lead him -- and popping up in an exciting adventure somewhere else in the world.
Forget Indiana Jones. We have South Carolina Sanford.
Or is it King David?
