Hey, let's be all snarky about Palin's speech. It'll be fun, you betcha!

"Our destiny to be reached by responsibly developing our natural resources. This land, blessed with clean air, water, wildlife, minerals, AND oil and gas. It's energy! God gave us energy."

Really? I always thought it was James Prescott Joule. Or at least Nicolas Clément.

Every one - all 15 of the ethics complaints have been dismissed. We've won! But it hasn't been cheap - the State has wasted THOUSANDS of hours of YOUR time and shelled out some two million of YOUR dollars to respond to "opposition research"

Gah! Free press and open courts are waaay too expensive.

If I have learned one thing: LIFE is about choices!

Ah hah! So she is pro-choice!

You can choose to engage in things that tear down, or build up. I choose to work very hard on a path for fruitfulness and productivity. I choose NOT to tear down and waste precious time; but to build UP this state and our country

And we must go forwards, not backwards! Upwards, not forwards! And always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

Life is too short to compromise time and resources... it may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: "Sit down and shut up", but that's the worthless, easy path; that's a quitter's way out

To not be a quitter, you have to quit, or else you're just doing what people tell you to do when they say work hard and don't quit, because then you're not thinking for yourself, and you've quit. So quit to make sure that you're not a quitter! Crap, now the word quit has lost all meaning to me.

only dead fish "go with the flow".

And traffic. And Sarah Palin isn't the sort of person who just drives with the flow of traffic. If she did, she would be a quitter!

And there is such a need to BUILD up and FIGHT for our state and our country. I choose to FIGHT for it!

Which is why she is going to join the Army!

I WILL support others who seek to serve, in or out of office, for the RIGHT reasons, and I don't care what party they're in or no party at all. Inside Alaska - or Outside Alaska.

Soooooo... in Canada, too?

I've never believed that I, nor anyone else, needs a title to do this - to make a difference... to HELP people.

Like a community organizer!

And then I thought - that's what's wrong - many just accept that lame duck status, hit the road, draw the paycheck, and "milk it".

Nah, she got her fill of that buying clothes on the RNC dime.

A good point guard drives through a full court press, protecting the ball, keeping her eye on the basket... and she knows exactly when to pass the ball so that the team can WIN. And I'm doing that - keeping our eye on the ball that represents sound priorities - smaller government, energy independence, national security, freedom! And I know when it's time to pass the ball - for victory.

Wait, I actually kinda want to see this game. The Republican Rejects vs the Traditional Media Reporters. It'll be like the Globetrotters vs The Generals, except I don't know who is whom.

In fact, this decision comes after much consideration, and finally polling the most important people in my life - my children (where the count was unanimous... well, in response to asking: "Want me to make a positive difference and fight for ALL our children's future from OUTSIDE the Governor's office?" It was four "yes's" and one "hell yeah!" The "hell yeah" sealed it

CURSING! FAMILY VALUES! WHY IS SARAH PALIN SWAYED BY SUCH FOUR LETTER WORDS??? OH NO SHE'S AS BAD AS LETTERMAN!!!

In the words of General MacArthur said, "We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction."

To quote Our Dumb Century: "Oct 4 1951 MacArthur Advances to Arctic Circle, Plans to Liberate Polar Region." I assume Palin means to do the same.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
