A daily blog in defense of liberalism and the President.
Hey Mark Sanford pay some attention to what is going on in Alaska and go Palin yourself! Sanford has been the lucky recipient of tragic occurrences happening and distracting the media and public who have very little attention spans. I was glad to hear that even many Republicans in his state are openly asking for his resignation, so hopefully it isn’t a matter of will Sanford resign but when. This man is delusional and a true egomaniac, does he think that the State of South Carolina can not survive without his brand of "superior ethics". I ask that everyone not forget this man, and not allow him to keep his job after what he has done just because the news cycle has turned over. Mark Sanford is the kind of hypocrite that is the true enemy of freedom and democracy. He is a do as I say not as I do Jesus lover, who thinks he should be able to dictate his values and ethics to others. He is theocrat who believes we should be a "Christian Nation" yet can’t keep his hands and other body parts to himself. I already can’t stand the sanctimony of the Christian Right, but hypocrites like Sanford are intolerable.
As for Sarah "The Quitter" Palin, who was right about one thing, she was certainly making Alaska a better place just by her stepping down; why is she threatening news outlets who continue to investigate wrong doings she might have done? We give a big "Thumbs Up" to Shannyn Moore who blogs for The Huffington Post in standing up to Sarah "the bully of the north" Palin who thinks investigating wrong doings is the same as personal attacks. Of course this is why she stepped down, because Princess Sarah enjoys the part of the spotlight that leads to people kissing her ass and sucking up to her, but she hates the scrutiny and negatives that come with it. I guess no one explained to poor Sarah that to be in politics you need a though skin, not just a tiny brain.
We now come to the Philosopher of the Week, Mohandas Gandhi who said, "An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind." Hence the reason anyone thinks and eye for an eye is justice is just fooling themselves. Gandhi also said, "An unjust law is itself a species of violence. Arrest for its breach is more so." I know many Americas won’t agree, but the drug laws are unjust laws and they have contributed to a violence so great it has destroyed our inner-cities and made us the country with the largest prison population in the world. You cannot be the "land of the free" and have 1 out of every 4 black men between the ages of 18-40 in prison. I guess I will stop preaching for the moment and say until tomorrow goodbye...
