On Larry King's show last night, when given the opportunity to distance herself from the Birther movement, Liz Cheney said, "People are uncomfortable with a president who is reluctant to defend the nation overseas."
What utter nonsense! The Birther movement is over a year old, so Cheney's answer cannot be taken any other way than as a complete embracing of the Birther claims.
Liz Cheney is obviously a Birther, and should be treated as the tinfoil hat loon she has to be by embracing the Birther movmement.
It's now come time for all Republicans to be asked the question, "Is Barack Obama a natural born citizen." Every last Republican who has been elected to the Congress must be put on the record over this.
Of course, we've seen Barack Obama's birth certificate. Regardless of the fact that it says "Certification of Live Birth", this is what the state of Hawaii issues when you request a copy of your birth certificate. I have a similar document from the state of Maryland. It's perfectly legitimate for obtaining a passport, joining the military, or a host of other purposes.
But this brings me to another point.
I've not seen the birth certificates of the 42 men who preceded Barack Obama to the presidency. I know that one president, Chester Alan Arthur, had similar issues about his birth place brought on by his opponenets, only in reverse.
Arthur was first claimed not to be a natural born citizen because his father was not an American citizen when he was born, he was Irish. When that failed to take off, his opponents concocted the story he was actually born in Canada. With Obama, the Birthers started by claiming he was born in Kenya and when that was debunked, started claiming he's not a natural born citizen because his father was not an American citizen when Obama was born.
IT's really the silliest tinfoil hat conspiracy theory ever. The Birthers make the moon landing deniers look almost sane by comparison.
So now is the time. Everybody must demand of Republicans that they answer the simple yes or no question. Is Barack Obama a natural born citizen?
This puts them on the spot. Either the Republicans throw the Birthers under the bus, or they join them. It's a natural born wedge issue.
