Today’s diary will not be long, but I hope it will be fun to share three tunes about Saturday in the title. We are just substituting the C for the S. (smile) Join me after the jump.
The first tune is very famous; you will recognize it right way: "Caturday in the Park" by Chicago:
Dontcha just luvz the horns in the song? Makes me want to stand up, rock my bootie, and clap a few paws!
Benson and Elmora helped in celebrating my 50th Caturday in the Park 3 weeks ago today (I am a 4th of July baby). No, no paw clapping, but they loved being near their Human Momma’s office that day.
The second is probably not as well known unless you were a big fan of this artist: Rickie Lee Jones. I don’t have a great YT to offer, but at least you can hear the tune, "On Caturday Afternoons in 1963." This song was on the best selling debut artist album, self entitled Rickie Lee Jones from 1978 and it was one of my favs when I was in college. The song you probably know better is "Chuck E’s in Love".
Dewey the Cat, the subject of one of our Caturday diaries earlier this year, looks in appearance very close what our cat, Venus looked like back in the 1960s, except she was sleeker.
She was a very good momma and she gave birth to Tiger, who looks a lot like my Benson does today.
Tiger was fun to be around, and he got along great with my momma’s woozle, Duchess.
The third song is the one I think everyone likes the most: "Caturday Night’s Alright for Fightin’" by one of the all time glam rockers, Elton John (this is from 1974):
More paw dancin’.
So, share your memories of your critters or perhaps of the Caturday tunes! If you have other favorite Caturday tunes, please list them in the comments section.
