So when I posted my diary the other day about losing the perception battle regarding healthcare reform and how "we" were doing too much defending and debunking of, for lack of a better term, crazy shit that was being thrown out by all of the forces fighting to keep the same crappy system.
And with that, a few comments were asking what should be done, or more directly, what my thoughts were in terms of turning it back so that there is, at a minimum, an honest discussion as opposed to the same trap that progressives always fall into - playing the game on the terms as defined by "the other side".
I had a few thoughts in mind, and being that I am a newly converted iMovie junkie, I put some of them into a little video - call it a "web ad" of my own.
What I did was turn the tables back and ask questions that are designed to put the republicans, big insurance and the status quo on the defensive - as opposed to offering up reasons why the need for a public option is urgent, why the current version of the bill says this or doesn't say that, or really defending anything. What I hoped to do was try and generate thoughts that would make anyone wonder why the hell things should stay the way they are.
So, any comments, criticisms (other than my tinny voice and n00bie editing skills) are more than welcome.
And if you do like it, feel free to post it or link to it or steal and modify it for yourself as well....
