Just got back from an hour or so outside Congressman Pete Stark's town hall meeting in Alameda CA. I was part of a large crowd that couldn't get into the meeting because the hall was full.

It will be too bad if what I witnessed outside Pete Stark's town hall never makes it to your screen. I have no idea what went on inside the meeting but outside progressives easily represented 90% of the crowd of several hundred.
There were signs, there was theater, there was orchestrated chanting mostly by progressives. Members of the opposition were for the most part engaged in civilized conversation putting forth views to people who found their positions to be quite wrongheaded but who, for the most part, listened politely in spite of that.
I think it matters a great deal that wherever practicable we show up in numbers at these events.
