We need a progressive organizer(s)! Someone to put together a massive rally to show support for health care and state by state coordinators to get people involved and mobilized -if Glenn Beck can do this (I believe he is a wingnut) so can we. Sad to say that Glenn Beck jump started his radio career back in 2003 when he organized a "Rally for G. Bush".
They drove through various states, collecting people as they went until they reached the place of the rally. If this Asshat can do this, so can we. We can converge on DC and demand accountability to the people of this country. Please volunteer to lead this effort??
Updated: I received an email from Organizing for America-they have opened an office in Tampa and this is a start for the healthcare march on Washington. We must have a show of force for the public option
.
The Democrats, once again, are about to blow the biggest historical measure in our life time.
Let’s call out every congressman by name that does not want health care. I am tired of them talking about costs, get rid of the pork for starters (we are the wealthiest nation in the world). I am so pissed at these Blue Dogs& conservative dems. The White House staff should publish their names & pictures so that people from around the country can ask them:
Why can’t we have health care? This is our country-we pay the bills.
Were you concerned about costs when Bush ran the deficit up with 2 wars?
Where was your concern when Wall St. crashed?
What is wrong? Americans should be screaming from the rooftops and marching in every city. There should be a threat to shut down this country if the Congress doesn’t pass health care. Yeah-no work, no school, nothing opened until We THE People get results. What has happened to us? Where is that drive to shout:
"I am mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore? I remember when Americans stood up for their beliefs-job or no job we rallied for significant human causes.
Huffington Post:
You never heard a word about "bi-partisanship" from the insurance industry or Republicans when they passed the notorious "Medicare Part D" prescription drug plan in 2003. Back then, they froze Democrats out of all negotiations, and passed the bill on a 220 to 215 vote in the House (with only 16 Democrats voting yes).
In fact, Medicare Part D would be their idea of a "good" health care "reform": taxpayer subsidies for private insurers with no competition from a public plan. And if we went that route, the results of health care reform would look pretty much like the results of Part D as well - no cost control, giant gaps in coverage, and confusing options for consumers.
Now that the political tide has turned, and last year's economic collapse has given voters a fresh lesson in the consequences of turning public policy over to corporate CEOs and insurance giants like AIG, the Republicans and insurance companies have had an eleventh-hour conversion to the benefits of "bipartisanship" when it comes to health care reform.
We need to rally all Americans and stop this charade. Your input please.
