I guess the republicans have the market cornered on patriotism and inciting action. This Saturday, September 5th, "Friends of America" held a rally in Holden, WV, with emcee Ted Nugent and guests Sean Hannity and Hank Williams, Jr.. Emcee Ted Nugent extolled his love of America and referenced the Boston Tea Party in response to tyranny. More below the fold...
This morning I was driving to the grocery store, listening to the WV NPR station, when Ted Nugent's irresponsible taunting blared out:
"I love America, but mostly I love defiance," he said. "I like when the punks from England overtax us and we throw the tea in the bay. Isn’t that kind of a cute move?"
"But I particularly like it when the British came to get our guns so we went to Concord bridge and shot them,"he added.
"I like dead tyrants. Isn’t that your favorite type of tyrant, a dead tyrant?" Nugent said.

Like Sean Hannity and so many others, Nugent is again taunting someone to action, against our government, against our duly elected President. I am dismayed at the behavior of those on the "right", especially those in the spotlight, who seem to think only they care about our country, that their actions and words have no bearing upon influencing others. I am dismayed that those in high offices, such as Sen. John McCain, and so many others, do not denounce this blatant racism and manipulation of psyche. MinistryofTruth had an excellent diary last week "Trying to get the President Killed..." and he more eloquently stated the issue.
I know we all have the right to free speech, but I think those people in the spotlight should be more responsible in how they present their opinions.
