Some things are just to amazing to be believed. As Talking Points Memo reports:
The official response to President Obama's big health care speech tonight will come from Rep. Charles Boustany (R-LA). That makes sense on some levels--Boustany is a fairly senior member on the House Ways and Means Committee, which has jurisdiction over health care. But on another level, it's a very questionable move. Several weeks ago, Boustany had a run-in with Mike Stark of Firedoglake.
TPM links to the Video. Here is the part of it that refers to Boustany:
Stark asks, "What do you personally believe though, I mean, do you think there's a question here [about Obama's birth certificate]?
Boustany's response? "I think there are questions. We'll have to see."
Since the rationale for firing Jones was his flirtation with the 9/11 truther movement, one has to ask if the press will take the slightest notice of Boutsany's flirtation with the Birther's.
I am not holding my breath.
Update
What kind of a nut is this guy? As noted in the diaries, he was scammed out of thousands of dollars when he tried to buy a title.
In 1995 at Southwark Crown Court Stefanos Kollakis and business partner Martin Lewis pleaded guilty to a conspiracy to commit forgery.
Kollakis, now known as Achilleas Kallakis, and Lewis, now named Alex Williams, set up a series of fake companies that sold forged manorial titles.
They conned a range of wealthy Americans, including current US congressman for the Louisiana 7th District Charles Boustany, out of a total of more than $85,000.
