Larry King asked John McCain what he thought of the president's strong language, refuting the lie even today propounded by Sarah Palin, that health care reform will include death panels, for senior citizens. McCain punted. He avoided the question, then said the president's comment was unnecessarily partisan. It was the president who was being partisan, by refuting her lie?
Sorry, Senator, but you're an asshole. You put Sarah Palin on the national stage. You are responsible for most people even knowing she exists. An honorable man would have spoken honestly, to refute her lie. A decent man long ago would have apologized for having turned our national political discussion into such a cynical joke.
McCain then went further and claimed that one of the bills being floated in the House may include some language, blah blah blah. I don't remember his exact language, and there isn't yet a transcript, but his weasel words were designed to convey the impression that there may actually be an element of truth in Palin's bullshit.
John McCain, you are an asshole. You used to say that elections have consequences. When Republicans were winning them. Now, you claim that the president who wiped the electoral floor with your sorry ass has to appease your pathetic party. He doesn't. He is being nice. Too nice, in my book. Because assholes like you don't deserve to sit at the table with him.
