Joe Wilson wasn't the only Republican acting like a five-year-old at the President's address of Congress last night. Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL), stood up and walked out in the middle of it. As the Swamp reports:
"Congressman Shimkus was frustrated that the president was not offering any new ground and left with just minutes remaining in the speech,'' spokesman Steven Tomaszewski said today in response to our question about the late-speech walk-out.
Boorishness like this shouldn't be allowed to stand. Let's get the 2010 elections started early by throwing these crybabies an anchor.
***UPDATE: Shimkus has no Democratic challenger yet for 2010. The best way to toss the idiot an anchor at this point is to contribute to The Progressive Change Campaign Committee. Then keep an eye out for the Democratic primaries in IL-19, and contribute to his challenger.
***UPDATE 2: akdude6016 says Danny Stover is the guy we want running in 2010 for IL-19. He challenged Shimkus in 2006, and akdude suggests he's "a real progressive," with a better chance of beating Shimkus than his 2008 challenger did.
Here's Stover's Facebook page if you want to encourage him to take another swing at this dingbat.
And if you haven't already, throw a little cash toward Joe "Old Yeller" Wilson's Democratic challenger in 2010, Rob Miller, here.
***UPDATE 3: Hat tip to several of you who pointed to this video of Shimkus quoting the Bible as primary evidence at a congressional hearing on climate change. What a maroon.
