Why is it everytime I get done listening to a Barack Obama Rally Speech, I feel like I've just been hit straight in the pie hole by a full on firehose?
Not just any speech. The Joint Session of Congress was good, I like it, nice, very nice.
But when Barry stands in front of regular folks you forget for a moment that he's president and you start feeling like he's the guy who hosts the Sunday Football Game party because his house is where everyone wants to be on weekends.
Today at his Health Care Reform Rally at the Unversity of Maryland, President Barack Obama retold the story that led to the appearance of one of the slogans of his 2008 Presidential Campaign ... not just a slogan, really ... more of a battle cry. If you haven't caught the story in the umpteen times he's told it, you should give a listen. It's cathartic.
"Fired Up?! (you respond "Fired Up!") Ready to Go?! (you respond "Ready to Go!")
I don't remember a president in my lifetime that was so plucked directly out of the pits of middle class humankind and thrust as one of us into the spot light as Leader of the Free World. And this speech reminds you where he came from. You'll have to, out of respect, remind yourself that he also happens to be the President of the United States.
If you've been down lately and feel like the energy has been drained out of the discussion by stupidity, misinformation and deception ... you owe it to yourself to sit in front of this video, listen to the story, and call your Congress Person in the morning.
