I'm sorry I don't have a real substantive diary, but I just wanted to report on a phone call I had with Sen. Nelson's Washington office. I'm not sure who’s keeping track of a vote count, but when I spoke with his office the woman on the phone told me that Sen. Nelson would work to amend the Baucus bill to include a public option. I haven’t been ale to reach his office before because his phone is ALWAYS busy, but I hadn’t heard him come out for a public option yet. Can anyone verify this, or is this just an example of an uninformed receptionist. I'm skeptical of the latter only because it's such a hot topic, she must be instructed on what specifically to say.
Anyway, maybe it's time to put Sen Nelson's name in the Public Option column.
