Dear America,
I have to say that I agree with Republicans. Neither money nor respect should be given to corrupt organizations. On the other hand, only three people who work for ACORN were shown to be corrupt, so attacking them first (and on such flimsy evidence) seems like an inefficient use of our time. There are much worse and much more influential organizations we must first work to destroy.
And there's one in particular with which we should begin...
First of all, if we are going to look at those three people caught in the ACORN sting as representative of the whole, then an organization that has been a haven for tax cheats, thieves, prostitutes' johns and, yes, even murders must be taken down immediately, right?
Which is why we must begin an investigation into the Republican party.
I mean, the few millions dollars the government has given to ACORN each year pales in comparison to the billions of dollars in bogus contracts Randy Cunningham (R-CA) pushed through in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes (see his "menu" here), as well as a boat and, it seems prostitutes.
And the support the ACORN folks seemed to offer the fake pimp and prostitute on those videos seems much less serious than, say, Senator David Vitter, who visited prostitutes to exercise his diaper fetish. After all, I know when I applied for my secret clearance, anything for which I could have been blackmailed would have caused me to be denied, which means we had a sitting senator with a bogus clearance. And what must be said for an organization whose members, rather than rejecting the senator as ACORN did its scummy employees, applauded Vitter when he returned and said, I sure do feel bad about getting caught with my pants down (literally).
Much worse, there are even murderers and many, many pedophiles and rapists who find themselves at home in the party.
So, yeah, I suppose that we should take down ACORN, but we have to take down that disgusting, corrupt Republican party first. Unless, of course, it's possible that, just maybe, the misdeeds of a few shouldn't become a smear for a whole group.
