Let's reframe the issue and turn the table on the Republicans.
We need to somehow turn the proverbial table on the Republicans on this issue. They and their guru Luntz have so far controlled the airwave chatter by putting Democrats on the defensive. Lately I have wondered aloud why the public puts up with all their nonsense and screwball antics - and then it hit me.
The Republicans get away with their nonsense (no one in the Media 'MSM' ever asks them questions like "Well don't you agree there is a problem or Don't you think recission is awful for Americans?" because the Public at large may unconsciously be thinking that no one would be so stupid or cruel as to not agree that those problems exist.
So how do we get that table turned? We need to come up with some statements that force the issue from the underside or sideways.
Example: State to the media that the Republicans are so negative because 1) They are 'jealous' that the Democrats will get all the credit for reforming healthcare 2) They are afraid that solving the problems under a Democratic Administration will hurt the Republican Party.
When the Republicans counter with "no we are not jealous" then pounce on them with the lead question - then why do you oppose solving the problem or why do you offer no proposals - no bipartionship ideas etc. Then watch them wiggle and squirm as they flounder without answering.
Others may have better ideas for new memes or framing of the concepts. I just think we need to reframe the debate. The Republicans are not being asked anything of substance by the MSM.
