As a former member of the BOD of our regional chamber of commerce (Cedar Valley in Iowa) and a business man and an employer I receive surveys to sometimes fill out.
I have recently been sent to this link
http://www.zoomerang.com/...
to fill out a survey as our chamber is looking to oppose HCR. I was not surprised. However, I have taken a minute to fill this out and state:
Most important issue for me "Take the profit motive out of health insurance." Swiss have done that about a decade ago with great success. They were essentially in the same boat as us and by the slimmest margin the Swiss in a national referendum voted in favor of this reform. Now even their conservative leaders and president would not give up on their new non-profit system.
Also I stated: "We should not have a profit motive with our military, police, fire-departments or health insurance providers. As a nation we sometimes must put our morals and ethics ahead of our profit and selfish self-interests." We all swim or sink together.
If you are from the Cedar Valley in Iowa I suggest you take this survey. Let them know what people want and not just individuals on their mailing list. Break the echo-chamber.
If you are from anywhere else (and you likely are) look to your chamber of commerce websites or contact them to learn how you can take one of their surveys. Be active and pro-active.
Over and out.
