I've been following Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Florida) for a while now, and one of the things that I like most about him, is that he doesn't 'fit inside the Beltway Box' in terms of any other politician I have ever seen.
He doesn't pretend to be 'politically correct'....he goes directly to the heart of the matter with absolutely no pretense or bullshit. He asks very specific and frank questions that usually are so stark in their straight forwardness, that often the people he questions simply are not prepared for this kind of blatant honesty.
Such was the case when Rep. Grayson questioned the General Attorney for the Federal Reserve, Scott Alvarez. After I watched the video, for a moment...just a teeny moment I thought that maybe Alvarez had wet his pants and I kind of felt sorry for him. But then I remembered the smoldering battlefield of our nation strewn with the homeless, the jobless, those that have lost their life savings and retirement 401Ks due to the inept and fully responsible actions of the Federal Reserve.
I'm starting to get the feeling that at some point in the very near future, that we will begin to hear details about monstrous front-running operations involving the major banks on Wall Street and their pals at the Federal Reserve.
As noted from this various 'interview' one the primary dealers who executes 'trades' for the Federal Reserve is non other than J.P. Morgan Chase. How cozy for them.
Here is some of the questions Rep. Grayson puts to the 'shaking in his boots' Alvarez.
Alan Grayson: I would like to know whether it is within the Federal Reserve's legal authority to try to manipulate the stock market or the futures market.
Federal Reserve GC Scott Alvarez: I don't believe the Federal Reserve tries to manipulate the stock market...(Yoda: Do or do not, there is no try.)
Alan Grayson: Does the Federal Reserve actually possess all the gold that's listed on their balance sheet.
Scott Alvarez, doing a classic poker body language tell, and taking his time: Yes...
Alan Grayson: Who actually executes the trades for the Federal Reserve in the markets?
Scott Alvarez: The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, which executes trades through Primary Dealers.
Alan Grayson: Can you name one Primary Dealer?
Scott Alvarez: JP Morgan Chase
Alan Grayson: Do you mind if we have a GAO audit to see if there has been front-running or insider trading by them? Do you mind? Is that ok with you?
Scott Alvarez: I am not sure if I have that authority...
Watch the video. It makes me glad that somebody never had the chance 'yet' to turn Rep. Grayson into just another 'Stepford Poltician'...The only other time that I can recall seeing this kind of 'go for the jugular' kind of questioning was when Bobby Kennedy went after Jimmy Hoffa. If I could 'clone' Alan Grayson I'd do it in a heart beat, and I'd replace every single turd dropping Blue Dog Democrat in our Senate with the likes of my very own 'Army' of Alan Grayson clones.

And just in case you missed it, here is an encore performance of Rep. Grayson trying to get one friggin decent answer out the 'fake' Inspector General of the Federal Reserve - which has got to be the most horrifying example of just how fucked up our government is when trying to find out even the most 'basic' information about the 'the most secretive semi-quasi government agency' that no one seems to be allowed to figure out what the hell they've done or are doing with trillions of dollars that belong to us, the taxpayers.
After I watched that video, I had to go light my hair on fire running down the street screaming for a while.
Rep. Alan Grayson, thank you. Thanks for having a set of balls, because we sure are missing that just about everywhere else in what passes as our Congress today.
Thanks.
