The Star-Tribune poll released today contains sobering news for Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty. You may recall that Tim's claim to fame is that he was the guy John McCain didn't select for his running mate, after the VRWC strong-armed him into selecting Caribou Barbie instead.
More recently, Tim has been acting a lot like someone running for President in 2012: he's been criss-crossing the country while dancing to the right on every issue he's asked about.
According to today's poll, only 30% of Minnesotans -- his own home-staters -- want Our Man Tim to run for President.
Wow. What a ringing endorsement from those who know him best.
Just thirty percent of Minnesotans want T-Paw to run, while a whopping 55% of Minnesotans want him to sit it out -- a nearly 2-to-1 margin.
Even worse, if Gov. Timmy does decide to run, he's in real danger of losing his home state.
If Pawlenty runs and is on the ballot for President, a whopping 43% of Minnesotans said there was "no chance" they would vote for him, while only 25% of Minnesotans said there was "good chance" they would vote for him. Another 25% said there was "some chance" they would vote for him, with the remainder undecided.
This is really, really bad. If Tim has an ounce of sense, he will fold it before it gets even more embarrassing.
