Last week it was revealed that an overwhelming number of Oklahoma high school students could not identify the first presiedent of the United States. I venture to guess that none could identify the head of the DNC.
Where oh where is Tim Kaine? Why the silence? The Democrats have majorities in both houses that they have waited years for. Thanks to the work of Howard Dean and the coat tails of Obama, they achieved the opportunity to affect some real change on the American political scene. Instead they seem intent on frittering away their chances. While the minority marches in lockstep, the majority acts afraid to promote an agenda that both the President and the people want. And it's not just the healthcare debate. They are rushing to pile on ACORN as though they fear that by not siding with the right. ACORN may have some internal problems. They may have been a victim of selective video editing. But they have been an organization that has helped elect many of those same Dems now rushing to judgement. Do these cowardly legislators believe that if they do not bend to the voices of Limbaugh and Beck that they will lose some votes? They will definitely lose votes if they do not start acting like Democrats. In the meantime, we still hear the voice of Howard Dean (thank God) and we can not escape the ubiquitous inanity of RNC chairman Steele, but the voice of Tim Kaine....silence. Attaining a majority is a means to an end, not the final goal. Someone needs to pull the Dems together and lead the charge. If not Kaine, then who?
