It might be more a symptom of low-stakes politics rather than an indictment of the Republican party, but either way, watching Frederick County (Maryland) Republican Commissioner Michael Cady go nuts on some guy for wearing a hat is still hilarious.
Cady first attempts to fire the new Parks Department employee wearing the hat for "insubordination", when the vote fails, he succeeds in deducting $35,000 from the Parks budget.
Someone happened to be taping the public access feed of the county meeting, and the video is available here. (bittorrent link)
More after the jump.
Here's Cady's
website. His info can also be found on the Frederick County Republicans
site.
The story was reported in the local news, and the heat on Cady was intense enough that he relented, apologized and gave back the money.
So what do you think, could this farm-leaguer someday be the next DeLay?
