I am a now former employee of a small ink-and-toner chain called Inkstop. They closed their doors this morning, with no warning, to discuss "restructuring." But today is payday and they didn't pay us.
If you are a former employee, make sure you contact the state Department of Labor in the state where you work. You need to file a claim. I don't know if there are any civil actions we need to follow. If anyone out there knows, please post it here.
I've started a Facebook group, Inkstop Employees For Back Wages.
Two news stories--one from the Cleveland Plain-Dealer
And one from Crain's Cleveland Business. This one references both the Facebook page and this diary!!
Thanks for the positive thoughts. The FB group is slowly growing (I can't believe so much PR has been accomplished in so short a time).
I was unemployed for a long time before I got this job. I was finally getting back on my feet. Now I'm back at square one. Actually, below that. Anyone in NJ who's hiring clever writers/marketers/event planners, keep me in mind!!
