No... seriously.
Hi all!
I don't know how long a diary this is going to be but I have been encouraged to get this out there and taste the wind on it.
More after the fold.
Let's look at the last time that there was some screaming political activity in this country during the Clinton years; we had an Olympics in Atlanta and there was a bombing. Do you really think that, that did not way on the minds of the voters of IOC? Why risk putting an Olympics in a country with those possible risks?
I bet you dollars to donuts that if some intrepid reporter started digging into this what they are going to find is that between the tea baggers and the lack of any Olympics ever in South America are going to be the factors that people are going to be talking about. During the Clinton years all you had was a bunch of yelling and the long simmering anti-choice crowd.. okay you also had McVeigh, but you did not have gun toting mobs. Well now we have those gun toting mobs( hell I am a second amendment advocate and thought they were daft for bringing a gun.. ), anti-choice assassinations and a couple of yapping heads on TV and radio stirring the pot of insurrection.
I really believe that had an effect on whether or not to send the worlds athletes to the United States.
