My teacher friend likes to come up with country ditties to sing while strumming
the guitar. I thought I'd pass this one along in part. Hopefully you realize that it is satire.
It was inspired by today's NYT article on the discovery a 4 million year old ancestor.
He requests that his name not be included, but it is still copyrighted material.
Here goes:
Monkey in the Family Tree - country western song
My child came home from school,
said he got a new textbook today
It came all the way from LA.
We opened to the section on
where we all come from . . .
Lo and behold, staring out a me . . .
A MONKEY IN THE FAMILY TREE!
O librul get your claws
out of the curriculum
O librul we're gonna cut off
yer Monkey Paws!
You were born in Kenya
That's where I'm gonna send ya
If you want to be a Monkey,
Join the Part of the Donkey
But keep your paws off my Family Tree!
