"Oh, man, oh, man, oh, man. The worst day of Obama's presidency, folks, the ego has landed. The world has rejected Obama!"
Rush Limbaugh gloating today after Chicago lost their bid for the 2016 Olypmics
So this day is the worst of Obama's presidency. This horrible day in which an American city didn't win their bid for the Olympics. If this is the worst day of the Obama presidency then, as an Obama supporter, I will take that one fully on the chin.
Yes, I will fully own my support of the President and this horrible, terrible, awful day that will surely echo through the ages as a day that will live in infamy.
Wanna know why?
I will take this as the worst day so far because compared to these days:
January 11 2002: First prisoners arrive at "Camp Xray" in Guantanamo Bay Cuba.
Aug. 1, 2002: Memos detailing how "torture might be legally defensible" are circulated at the Justice Department.
March 20, 2003: The US invades Iraq in a war of choice.
May 1, 2003: "Mission Accomplished"
April 28, 2004 : Pictures of Abu Gharib are released to the public revealing the torture and abuse that has gone in Iraq.
August 29, 2005: Hurricane Katrina hits New Orleans. The ensuing complete breakdown of Federal response brings shame to the nation and suffering to victims.
November 2, 2005: A collection of "black site" prisons run by the CIA are revealed to exist around the world.
Today: To date 4,348 Americans killed in Iraq.
Last, but not least - September 11th, 2001.
If this is the worst day for Obama, I will take that with relief and gratitude.
Thank you, Mr. Obama for this as a bad day. I'll take it... and then I'll take another even if it is as bad as this one.
