Bruce Fein, constitutional law scholar and former Deputy Assistant Attorney General under President Reagan, and Rocky Anderson, former Salt Lake City Mayor and Executive Director of High Road for Human Rights, will hold a series of unique lectures throughout California on contemporary issues in the rule of law and the expansion of unchecked executive power. The course, "The Courts, Congress, and Executive Power: What every lawyer needs to know about the transformation of our republic and the rule of law in an age of terror," is open to all members of the public, and earns attorneys two hours of continuing legal education credit. Some of the issues Anderson and Fein will discuss include accountability for torture, extraordinary rendition, Fourth Amendment protections, war powers, due process rights, and the nature and meaning of the war on terror.
