Obama's approval rating has increased the past few days in the Gallup poll daily tracking. It had gone up from 50% at the beginning of the week to now as of today 56%.
I suspect it is a combination of a Nobel Peace Price bounce with the added effect of the GOP whining about it.

I haven't been looking at Obama's poll numbers for awhile. I feel that they don't have much bearing on things. What matters is his approval rating on the day of the midterms 2010 and of the day of the general election in 2012. Other than it is more for pundits to spew and worry about.
I feel what will determine whether or not Obama accomplishes his goals ie health care reform is NOT what his approval rating is now but whether or not he twists arms like LBJ to get things done. Once something is achieved is when Obama will get a boost.
However, I noted on another blog that Obama's approval ratings in the Gallup tracking poll got a jump so I checked it out. It is now up to 56% which is the best it has been for weeks perhaps months.
I suspect it is the Nobel Peace Prize bounce. Unlike what the GOP believes (and Chris Matthews spouts), Americans love when their president is loved and respected around the world. Although I am NO FAN of George Bush, I was truly embarrassed and ashamed that he got a shoe thrown at him in Iraq. I felt like they were throwing the shoe at America. I do NOT like to see the President no matter who he is embarrassed on an international stage. I suspect Americans of all persuasions agree with me.
The Nobel Peace Prize is something to be proud of no matter how much the GOP bashes it and SNL makes a dumb skit about. What Copenhagen took away, Oslo brought back and then some.
Obama accepted the Nobel Peace Prize with humility and grace. He will be traveling throughout Asia in November (China, Japan, etc) and then to Europe in December (Copenhagen, Oslo). I love seeing Obama on the international stage in which he gets love and respect throughout the world.
I am EXTREMELY proud of our President. Like most things the GOP has it wrong that Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize because he is a "weak" president. I think the opposite. Obama got it because he is a man of strength. (I suspect that the GOP are also jealous of Obama. It is like we are in high school or something in which these kids are jealous of the best jock in the school so they continuously try to tear him down.)
Barack Obama is NOT perfect by any means but he is truly the First President of the 21st century who the world has put their hopes and dreams in. My hope that Obama is able to live up to that hope.
