The two pronged strategy of supporting Progressives who Yell Louder (Alan Grayson) and punishing wingnuts who say stupid things (Michele Bachmann, etc ) is starting to work, so I want to move this strategy back to the lately overlooked stupidity of Joe "YOU LIE!" Wilson (R-SC02)
I will be referring to this person as "Ugly Kid" Joe Wilson from now on, as the song "I Hate Everything About You" seems to be the unofficial theme song of Joe Wilson and the entire Republican party. When you are anti-empathy you are pro-hate, there is just no two ways about it.
This is Hate vs Hope.
The GOP hopes you hate people as much as they do.
The GOP hopes America is still screwed up in 2010 so they can blame it on Obama and the Democratic party.
Let's call them out on it and Act Blue Here to send them a message.
Hate is what the GOP is selling.
They hope you are unemployed and pissed off when 2010 rolls around. They HATE Obama and everyone else around him, and they hope America is still screwed up when the next elections come by. They hope you blame Obama and Dems for it. They hope America fails until 2010. They hope for hatred.
America deserves way better than that.
South Carolina deserves better than Ugly Kid Joe Wilson, so we should make an example of him in order to let the wingnut obstructionists know that they will be punished in their bids for re-election with well funded opponents and a mobilized progressive base.
Even better is the demoralizing feeling wingnuts who cheered for Wilson in the days after the "YOU LIE!" heard around the world will feel when Ugly Kid Joe is forced out of Congress by a Democratic Candidate.
Donate to Rob Miller with Act Blue Here and help sink Ugly Kid Joe Wilson!
We should make "Ugly Kid" Joe Wilson the poster boy of GOP Hatred, and then we should hang him around the neck of the GOP for all of 2010.
It will make beating Wilson and the Republicans in the next election that much sweeter.
Their plan is "I hope Obama fails because I hate him", and if Obama fails, so does America.
Let's make sure that doesn't happen by making an example of Joe Wilson and supporting Rob Miller for Congress.
Peace,
MoT
