I have just seen Michael Moore's latest documentary, "Capitalism: A Love Story."
Let me just say that I believe this is the crowning achievement of Michael Moore's impressive career. Run, don't walk to your nearest movie theatre to see this great film. Take as many friends and family members as you can!
"Capitalism: A Love Story" shows in stark detail the impact of our economic policies over the past several decades. In many ways, this film is a call to action. It is a call to finally reign in the financial institutions which have preyed upon the public like vultures and created the giant mess we are in now.
And I believe that of all of Michael Moore's films, this one should be able to transcend party lines with its outrage regarding the ridiculous bank bailouts of 2008. In some ways, it's not so much an indictment of capitalism itself (though it is that), but of the obscene excesses and abuses that take place in the absence of any real oversight. The segment on the Derivatives Market is in and of itself worthy of a standing ovation.
Simply put, please please please go see this movie!
