Happy Thursday, pootie, woozle, birdie and general critter lovers! This is a diary to relax, share pictures and stories about our animal friends, and to build community. Come on in and join us.
Tuesday, I had a new roof put on the house. The banging of the hammers and the sound of footsteps overhead...well Lydia didn't like it. She's a hider at the best of times, so when she disappeared and I didn't see her for a few hours, I thought nothing of it. Four hours after the roofers left, though...
The perp, looking all innocent-like
I looked high and low; over and under. Kidlet crawled places no 13-year-old was meant to fit. Meanwhile, as we searched, Kallie, bless her kittenish little heart, followed us into the area in the back of my closet that contains the water heater. When I came out and closed the panel, she too became briefly among the missing. But not for long, we just had to follow the wail.
Could a face this innocent really hide such a mischievous mind?
It was nearly midnight when Lydia finally appeared; we'd found Kallie a couple of hours before, when she became bored and began to wail. But where Lydia was all the time...well, I still don't know. Just strolled casually into the room. "Why so worried?" she seemed to be saying, "I knew where I was all along."
And therein lies the origin of tonight's theme:
